Viral Testing

Indoor Biotechnologies offers a broad range of viral testing, which includes:

 
• Assessments of virus viability on surfaces.
• Product efficacy testing to measure the virucidal effects of disinfectants and cleaning products.
• Suspension or surface testing in accordance with EN 14476, EN 16777, ASTM E1052 and ASTM E1053 standards.
• Product efficacy testing for SARS-Cov-2 (using Vaccinia virus or representative human coronaviruses).*
 
Indoor Biotechnologies tissue culture facilities operate under Biosafety Level 2 and are ISO 17025 compliant. Custom testing methods can also be designed in collaboration with Indoor Biotechnologies’ scientists with expertise in viral immunology.

*A note on SARS-CoV-2
In accordance with EN 14476 standards, products shown to be effective against Vaccinia virus can be deemed effective against all enveloped viruses, including coronaviruses. 
Human Coronavirus 229E and OC43 can also be used as surrogates for SARS-CoV-2. 
Indoor Biotechnologies provide testing with these viruses to support virucidal efficacy claims against coronaviruses, including SARS-CoV-2.
